After a lingering illness, Mrs. Catherine Lasher died Saturday afternoon, May 4, 1940, at the home of her son James H. Lasher, 571 Fifth avenue, New Kensington, where she had made her home since the death of her husband, the late Wyland Lasher. Mrs. Lasher was born in Armstrong County April 29, 1854. She is survived by one sister Charlotte Booher of Kittanning; one brother Abraham Wolfe, of Kittanning; and eight children; Arda J. Lasher, Kittanning; Mrs. Minerva Shaffer, Kittanning; James H. Lasher, New Kensington; Mrs. Maude Bowser, Kittanning; William C. Lasher, New Kensington; John H. Lasher, Pittsburgh; Dr. L.A. Lasher of Erie; and Loven L. Lasher of Long Beach Calif. Funeral services will be held at the Church of God, Adrian, Wednesday, May 8, at 2 p.m. (DST) where interment will follow. A brief service will be held at the Lasher residence at one o'clock Wednesday afternoon for the New Kensington friends and relatives. Rev. G.H. Heaton, pastor of the First Baptist church of New Kensington, will officiate.
